A new quality of life improvement for UEFN Creators!
The latest patch, 30.10, sees a new collaborative tool added, Notes!

“Notes” are a deceptively powerful new collaboration tool added to the latest UEFN patch aimed to improve quality of life for creative teams. Anything to improve our workflows, and make better islands, is a big win on our team!
If you’ve spent any time working on creative projects and game development in general, you’ll know how iterative the process often is. We believe that feedback and iteration is the key to creating feature worthy islands. However collaborating remotely, often in different time zones, inside a virtual 3D world where multiple artists or devs are working, can be a real challenge.
This is where Epic’s “Notes” system comes in.
With Notes, you can place virtual sticky notes attached to specific actors in your level, to leave feedback and call outs for artists and developers tasked in that zone. A new Notes panel will show all notes currently in the scene creating an easy “To-Do” list for teams to iterate through
Here are our favorite elements of the new Notes system:
Multiple in engine screenshots can be added to the note, to give easy context
Notes store the camera location and rotation when the note was created. Allowing you to see the exact view the creator had when creating the note.
You can create either Anchored Notes or Camera Notes, each have their specific uses.
Making games can be challenging, even with a great team and we believe this humble update, will actually make quite a big quality of life improvement for UEFN Creators and their teams.
